Two new conversations are available on my website for you to view or listen to:

Yoga Therapy for Children/Teens with Anxiety and Depression with Leigh Sloss, and

Interview with Robin Rothenberg about her pioneering book "Restoring Prana"

It would be great if you could subscribe to my YouTube channel - @AliceBentleyYoga - thank you for your support!

Join Leigh and I as we explore how yoga therapy can help children and teens with anxiety and depression, as well as supporting their parents.

Leigh works primarily with children and teens in the seacoast of New Hampshire. She has her Masters in Education, is a yoga therapist and has recently graduated with her Masters in Social Work at the University of New Hampshire. I’ve been so inspired by her dedication to bringing yoga therapy to this age group for the last 15 years including her pioneering efforts to bring yoga therapy and mindfulness into our local schools.

This episode is full of Leigh's passion and wisdom, including some simple practices that can be helpful for children (and their parents!).

I was delighted and honored to interview Robin Rothenberg recently about her pioneering book, Restoring Prana: A Therapeutic Guide to Pranayama and Healing Through the Breath for Yoga Therapists, Yoga Teachers, and Healthcare Practitioners.

Robin Rothenberg is an internationally respected yoga therapist who specializes in supporting people with respiratory, immune, and structural imbalances to regain their health through the combined tools of yoga and therapeutic breathing practices. Restoring Prana has been hailed as one of the most thorough and well-researched books on the topic of pranayama. She is program director of the Essential Yoga Therapy, an IAYT Accredited therapist training program, and currently serves on the IAYT board, previously as president.

Restoring Prana is a deep and comprehensive exploration of prana that integrates the vedic teachings on prana with western science and overturns the modern yoga paradigm of big breathing. Robin recommends slow, low and light breathing and that most of us need to focus on breathing less versus more. She shares the personal journey that lead her to this work as well as the science and yogic wisdom behind functional breathing. She leads a breathing practice so that we can get a felt sense of her teachings . This is important work and Robin gives the yoga community a call to action to integrate these teachings into our own practice and into our work with our students/clients.
